This Recovery Fund was set up for Cory Cook, who on Saturday June 9th, 2012 suffered a severe Spinal Cord Injury, leaving him paralyzed from the breast line down.

One of the most difficult transitions with spinal cord injuries is planning for life after the inpatient services. The decision was made that Cory would benefit the most by staying in Boston to continue therapy full time for at least one year. Cory and his fiancé Colline moved in a small apartment inside the Boston city limits. Over the last ten months Cory has been involved in many different therapies, conventional as well as the alternative methods. Therapies ranging from a therapeutic rowing research program at SRH in Cambridge, to Journey Forward, an exercise based program started by Dan Cummings. Cummings had a similar accident to Cory (please click on the link below to learn more about Journey Forward). Cory is busy five days a week from about 8am-5pm attending 3 to 4 different therapies/treatments. Of all his treatments and therapies only one has been covered by health insurance.

Cory continues to make progress and wishes to remain attending Journey Forward three days a week. We hope to raise enough money to cover the cost of attending this incredible program for another year. Each and every donation is greatly appreciated and will help improve Cory’s quality of life. Thank You!
